This project extends the exploration of natural textured knitted surfaces into a virtual context. Selected for a two-week training at Shima Seiki , using ApexFiz and 3D Modelist software to imagine how knitted surfaces could wrap and transform different forms — from clothing to interior objects. I began by translating some of my existing physical knitted samples into digital fabrics, using virtual yarns to explore new variations of texture.

During the training, I used an existing ceramic vase as a base to reimagine how it might appear if it were knitted — experimenting with different jacquard patterns and knit structures to create distinct visual and material effects. The process was playful, exploring how digital knitting allows surfaces to shift and evolve instantly.

While these vases could probably never exist in real life, they reveal how virtual tools can expand the imagination of knit — opening new possibilities for material, surface, and structure.
