Warning!

This project grew out of my reflections on femininity and the heightened sense of alertness that often comes with growing up as a girl — the quiet vigilance, fear, and pressure to stay guarded. It explores how these emotional states can be visualized and expressed through textile.
Inspired by aposematism—the way animals use vivid colors and patterns as a form of warning—and by ritual tattooing practices where markings offer cultural or spiritual protection, I explored how visual cues can act as a kind of emotional armor.
I developed a series of knitwear pieces using both CIXING industrial and domestic knitting machines, combined with crochet and embellishment techniques to extend the tactile vocabulary.的
